The Turkish representation in South Sudan began with the opening of a Consulate General in Juba on 8 January 2011, the day before the independence referandum took place on 9 January 2011.
After the declaration of independence on 9 July 2011, the level of representation of our country in South Sudan was upgraded to the level of the Embassy accordingly.
Our Embassy works for the improvement of bilateral relations between Türkiye and South Sudan in all areas and tries to contribute to lasting peace and stability in the country. The Turkish Embassy coordinates Türkiye’s humanitarian and development aid to South Sudan and provides necessary support to Turkish citizens residing in and business people traveling to the country.
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Turkish Red Crescent Society have coordination offices in Juba and they carry out their activities in the country in coordination with our Embassy. Our Embassy has also a Commercial Counsellor Office.
